Tolkien Week Post #2–The Bridge of Khazad-Dum

My second post for Tolkien Week involves the epic showdown that is…the Bridge of Khazad-Dum. It’s got Gandalf, and it’s got a Balrog. Really, what more could you want?

Another reason for posting this: it has inspired traffic signs.

Driving would be way more interesting if these signs were in my neighborhood.

  1. Hi, Emerald,

I hate to be a wet blanket, but this has to be one of my least favorite scenes from LotR movie #1. To me, it was too long and drawn out, too shadowy, and too vague, leaving the viewer with a distinct feeling of “what-just-happened-here???” Plus, there were just way too many creatures for one sequence.

Aside from that, where are those road signs located? Did you stick them up in your front yard or something? 😉

    Best,
    Pearl

    • Haha, no, they’re not in my yard. I’ve seen pictures of them on the Internet, and I figured I’d share them since they were related to the post. I have no idea where they’re originally from–more than likely they’re Photoshopped, though. Pity. I would love it if my neighborhood had these signs.
