The Feast of St. Nicholas

Today just so happens to be the feast of St. Nicholas, the bishop whom the world would later come to know as Santa Claus. But how many of you know that St. Nicholas punched a heretic at the Council of Nicea?

Yes, you read that right. “Jolly old St. Nicholas” punched Arius the Divinity-of-Christ-denying Heretic in the nose at the Council of Nicea and spent a night in jail because of his actions.

Yes, truth can be stranger than fiction…but it can also be more entertaining.
