Christmas Eve 2016

Yes, it’s Christmas Eve once again, ladies and gentlemen, and I decided to get on here and wish you all a Merry Christmas in case I don’t get a chance to do so tomorrow. I also wanted to share one of my favorite Christmas songs with you, “Gabriel’s Message”. My church choir sings it every Christmas, but I didn’t know what the title was until I searched for some of the lyrics. My search led me to this, and I am so glad I finally found the title.

It is interesting that you posted this song, because although I’ve never heard it in church, it’s in the hymnal and I’ve heard recordings before, so this year I listened to it repeatedly on YouTube until I had it memorized. Every Christmas I set out to teach myself some new or new-ish carols and this year this was one of them. One of the others that I encountered this year was Gaudete. It sounded vaguely familiar and sure enough, you had posted that one before, too. I just found it a fun coincidence that my two main new carols for the year seem to be some of your favorites as well. Thanks for posting them (and I meant to reply while it was still the Christmas season, time just kind of got away from me:).
